Field Notes - A lone surfer surveys the scene on a very foggy morning right after sunrise two days after Christmas in 2007. I arrived here while it was still dark thinking I would have the beach to myself for sunrise but was surprised when this stout-hearted surfer showed up shortly after me. It was a gorgeous and mysterious morning on the beach.
